Migration Vacations: Philanthropic Travel

Migration Vacations are an exciting opportunity for supporters of the cause to get more involved, in a fun but constructive way. The medical missions, or ‘Migration Vacations’, are so named to inspire people to use their ‘vacation time’ from work to do something positive and meaningful in the world.

The trips will make certain that the medical supplies (supported by the sale of Project Migration products) are going directly into the hands of the children and single mothers who need them and will aid in creating a global community outreach. On each trip, we will also bring volunteer doctors who will help single mothers who are pregnant, giving birth or sick. Pregnancy is the leading cause of death for women and girls in the developing world. Every minute a woman dies giving birth. With basic medical care, 80% of these deaths could be avoided.

We will be doing two styles of trips:

Ekisa Trips

(Ekisa translation: kindness, in the Luganda language)

This is a hands-on medical aid mission trip, and is financially economical.

Brief summary of trip: You will meet us at a hotel in Africa, Asia or South America (location depending on specific trip and mission). During the following week, we will take day-long medical mission trips to clinics and remote locations. You may rent a car, or travel with us in the mobile medical clinic. You may choose to come on any or all of the missions, and be as involved as you feel comfortable.

Sadaka Trips

(Sadaka translation: charity, in the Swahili language)

This is a luxury-style trip, to get involved and a taste of real life in the area, while helping those in need.

Brief summary of trip: You will meet us in Africa, Asia or South America (location depending on specific trip and mission). We will meet you at the airport and escort you to the resort where you can receive spa treatments and relax after your flight. During the following week, we will visit one other resort, and take day-long medical mission trips to clinics and remote locations. Travel will be via a comfortable SUV or safari vehicle. You may choose to come on any or all of the missions, and be as involved as you feel comfortable. You may choose to spend as many days as you like on guided tours of the area, on Safari or at the spa, but our hope is that the more you see, the more you will be inspired to participate and help.

Stay tuned for details about our first trip – Fall 2012.
